The St. Joseph of Jaguaré Parish celebrated Holy Week with great fervor, bringing the faithful together in moments marked by faith, community participation, and significant public expressions, especially in the processions held through the neighborhood streets. The procession began on Palm Sunday, recalling Jesus’ entry into Jerusalem, and continued throughout the week with celebrations that fostered prayer and contemplation, such as the Office of Darkness, preparing the community for the Easter Triduum.
On Holy Thursday, the foot-washing rite highlighted the call to service, followed by adoration of the Blessed Sacrament. On Good Friday, the Stations of the Cross and the procession deepened the experience of the Lord’s Passion. The high point occurred during the Easter Vigil on Holy Saturday, with the rite of light, the proclamation of the Resurrection, and the rite of baptism as a sign of new life, welcoming new members into the Church and renewing the faith of the entire community. On Easter Sunday, the joy of Christ’s resurrection was celebrated with enthusiasm by the faithful.
Holy Week also saw the involvement of all the pastoral ministries and the active participation of the communities of Santa Luzia, Bom Jesus, and Nossa Senhora Aparecida, strengthening fraternal bonds, a sense of community, and the hope of new life in the risen Christ.
