The Meninas em Campo project continues to expand its reach and impact by uniting different generations around sports. Since March, the initiative has begun hosting, in its facility, the training sessions of Walking Football Brasil — a team composed of elderly women who are part of the active aging initiative through adapted soccer. The partnership stems from shared goals: promoting inclusion, health, and community, reinforcing sport as a lifelong right. By sharing the field with these athletes, the project broadens its focus beyond youth categories, incorporating a focus on longevity and the active role of women in their later years, while fostering rich intergenerational dialogue.
In addition to this significant achievement, the Congregation of Santa Cruz, through Meninas em Campo, won first place in the Social Responsibility category at the National Educational Management Award (PNGE) during GEDUC 2026. This national recognition highlights the consistency and relevance of the work carried out, with a focus on promoting gender equity, the holistic development of athletes, and the use of sports as a tool for social transformation. The award reflects a collective effort involving staff, athletes, families, and partners, reaffirming the project’s commitment to creating opportunities and expanding access to women’s soccer, especially in socially vulnerable contexts.
