In celebration of International Women’s Day, the Holy Cross Socio-Educational Center (CESSC) organized a special event to boost the self-esteem and self-image of the girls in its care. Throughout the day, they participated in a “mini beauty salon,” experiencing personal care that reinforced the importance of self-care and the recognition of their own beauty and dignity. As a gesture of affection and respect, the boys also got involved in the initiative, preparing and dedicating messages to their female peers. Led by social educators Claudenice Santos and Patrícia Feliciano, the activity sensitively embodied the commitment to female empowerment and the building of relationships grounded in respect and mutual appreciation.
On another occasion, the Easter celebration mobilized the CESSC community. The children in the program participated in a reenactment of the Last Supper and the Stations of the Cross, symbolically tracing the path to Christ’s resurrection. The activity helped foster an understanding of the key events of the Christian tradition, while also providing an opportunity for reflection on love, hope, and new beginnings.
