“Yellow September” Creates Space to Talk About Feelings and Care
Throughout September, CECOIA carried out initiatives to raise awareness and celebrate life as part of the “Yellow September” campaign. The activities created spaces for dialogue with children and adolescents about feelings, emotions, self-care and caring for others, and the importance of seeking help when needed.
Throughout the month, the institution’s facilities featured messages, information, and activities on the topic, presented in a way that was accessible and appropriate for different age groups. Among the initiatives, a discussion circle led by psychologist Ana Carolina provided a moment for listening and reflection on how to recognize and express emotions, as well as how to recognize when someone close to you might be in need of support.
The conversation also highlighted the importance of turning to a trusted adult when facing difficult situations. Informative and educational videos complemented the activities, addressing, in a gentle and accessible way, topics such as empathy, friendship, care, and building a support network.
These activities helped children and adolescents realize that expressing their feelings is also a form of self-care. By creating spaces for listening and dialogue, CECOIA contributes to more welcoming relationships and a community that is attentive to each person’s needs.
CECOIA and Family: Together, We Strengthen Bonds and Build Stories

On August 22, CECOIA experienced a special moment of gathering, fellowship, and joy, bringing together children, adolescents, and their guardians for a morning designed to strengthen bonds and bring families even closer to the institution.
Welcoming families to CECOIA is an opportunity to share experiences, foster moments of dialogue and togetherness, and recognize the importance of family presence in the journey of every child and adolescent. Throughout the morning, various activities were held to encourage interaction between the young people we serve and their guardians, creating spaces to be together, talk, share, and strengthen relationships.
The families’ participation also allowed them to gain a deeper insight into daily life at CECOIA, reinforcing the partnership between the institution, the young people served, and their guardians. It was a morning filled with smiles, encounters, and great joy, reaffirming that the bonds built day by day are essential for a more welcoming and meaningful community.
