Notre Dame School Campinas kicked off its 65th-anniversary celebrations on March 19 with a special celebration in honor of St. Joseph, patron saint of the Brothers of Holy Cross. Held at the St. Andrew Bessette Chapel on campus, the Mass brought together students, educators, families, members of the Congregation of Holy Cross and friends, in a moment of faith and gratitude for the journey built over the decades. One of the most memorable moments of the celebration was the unveiling of the 65th-anniversary commemorative plaque, led by Br. Ronaldo Almeida, CSC, President of the Congregation of Holy Cross in Brazil, and Br. Nilto Neres, CSC—a symbolic gesture that immortalizes a history built on dedication, purpose, and commitment to the education of minds and hearts.
In addition to the anniversary celebrations, the educational community also led a significant act of solidarity through the Solidarity Campaign promoted by the Campus Ministry, to benefit the Brother André Community Center (CECOIA). The effort involved all segments of the school, and thanks to everyone’s participation, the following were collected:
- 144 units of chocolate milk
- 102 units of tea
- 151 units of cornmeal
- 140 liters of oil
- 177 kg of beans
- 540 packages of pasta
- 132 kg of sugar
- 327 packages of sweet cookies
- 349 packages of crackers
- 123 units of powdered milk
- 241 kg of rice
Beyond the numbers achieved, each donation represents a concrete gesture of care and attention to others, reinforcing, in practice, the values that guide the Mission of the Congregation of Holy Cross.
Inspired by the example of St. Joseph and the words of Blessed Basil Moreau, who invites us to be “good workers for the earthly city and the heavenly city,” students and educators renew, in their daily lives, their commitment to integral formation, grounded in faith, solidarity, and social responsibility. Thus, Notre Dame Campinas Schooll celebrates its jubilee by reaffirming its identity and its mission to transform education into an instrument of positive impact on society.
