Faith, Tradition, and Communion at St. Joseph of Jaguaré Parish

The arrival of the new vicar, along with the celebrations of Corpus Christi and Confirmation, marked a period of intense living out of the faith and strengthening of the evangelizing mission within the community

In recent months, the São José do Jaguaré Parish brought the community together for important celebrations and events that shaped the parish’s life.

One of the highlights was the arrival of Fr. Severino, CSC, who assumed his ministry as parish vicar. His integration into the community reinforces the pastoral work carried out in the parish, in collaboration with the parish priest, the pastoral ministries, and the movements, contributing to the strengthening of the evangelizing mission in Jaguaré.

On the Solemnity of Corpus Christi, the procession with the Blessed Sacrament wound through the neighborhood’s streets as a public witness of faith in the real presence of Christ in the Eucharist. The program concluded with the celebration of Holy Mass.

Another significant moment was the celebration of the Sacrament of Confirmation, presided over by Bishop Edilson de Souza Silva, Auxiliary Bishop of the Archdiocese of São Paulo and Episcopal Vicar for the Lapa Region. Alongside family members, godparents, and catechists, the confirmands received the sacrament and renewed their commitment to live out and bear witness to the Christian faith.

The celebrations and the arrival of the new vicar reflect the vitality of the São José do Jaguaré Parish and the community’s commitment to continuing to proclaim the Gospel through prayer, the sacraments, and service.
