The months of May and June were marked by important celebrations at Our Lady Help of Christians Parish, bringing the community together in moments of prayer, devotion, and fraternal fellowship.
The traditional Feast of Our Lady Help of Christians began on May 15, with Masses and novenas presided over by priests from the Diocese of Nazaré. Inspired by the theme “Help of Christians, Mother of Charity,” the program invited the faithful to reflect on the call to charity, communion, and service. The closing ceremony on May 24 featured a Solemn Mass, followed by a procession through the neighborhood streets and a time of fellowship enlivened by a performance by Father Diego.
Following that, from June 9 to 12, the community celebrated the Feast of the Sacred Heart of Jesus, held at the Chapel of the Sacred Heart of Jesus. Under the theme “Charity was born of the Sacred Heart of Jesus,” the daily program included the recitation of the Holy Rosary, the Litany of the Sacred Heart, and the celebration of Holy Mass.
On the Solemnity itself, presided over by the parish priest, Fr. Laudeni Ramos Barbosa, CSC, the consecrations of new members of the Pope’s Worldwide Prayer Network and the Eucharistic Youth Movement (MEJ) also took place, marking a special moment in the community’s journey of faith.
The two celebrations brought together the community, pastoral groups, and volunteers, strengthening bonds of fellowship and renewing the faithful’ commitment to living the Gospel and serving the Church.
